Word of the Day (Annie Lennox Edition)

That hooligans run rampant at a house party isn't gobsmacking, that Annie Lennox has two teen daughters, that's gobsmacking (at least to me).

(and just pretend that I posted a word of the day yesterday, use your imagination to determine which story out there most likely smacked my gob)

She's 52, after all.

Gobsmacking is that my own son won't turn 13 until 3 months AFTER I hit that age.

Owwwww!!!!!!!!!!!

More gobsmacking, for me anyway, is that when my mother turned 52, I had been out of high school (and the house) for 12 years.

Ouuuuuuuuch!

It has nothing to do with her age, and more to do with the persona she cultivated throughout the 80s and 90s.

But seems like a mistake she won't make again letting the kids alone lightly or unsupervised.

Then again, her daughters probably learned their lesson two and wouldn't even consider throwing that type of shindig again, so all is probably well.

If I ever get around to procreating, I'll be that guy in his 40s with the toddlers, so I can't laugh at that too much.

(whether that's with a woman in her 40s, 30s, or 20s is to be determined)

"Sweet dreams are made of this... ."

OK, utterly obvious. But what--what?

That's the point of the word obvious: to be obvious.
