I Will Beat Her Like a Tin Drum in 2016

I've already announced (more than a year ago) my candidacy for 2016. After 8 years of Pres. John McCain (a year ago, I was certain that it would be after a eight years of Pres. Giuliani, oh well), the country will be ready for somebody younger, more libertarian, and willing to solve the tough problems of the day with 'outside of the box' thinking.

Well, if this Times of London article is to believed, I may get the pleasure of beating Chelsea Clinton in that general election (she'll be 36 in 2016, and eligible to run, I'll be a more palatable 47 on election day 2016).

There's no way in a million years this article would have run in any paper here in the United States. Chelsea's nice and all, but there's not a snowballs chance in hell that she'll be running for President anytime soon.

The Bush clan has quite a few more possibilities out there, George Prescott Bush chief amongst them (a third generation of George Bushes as president?), don't be surprised to see him running for a seat in the House of Representatives in 2010, and maybe even the Senate in 2012 if Hutchinson doesn't seek another term. After that, who knows?

Hillary's run is where the Clinton's "dynasty" ends, though, she doesn't have another run in her, and I don't think folks who work for a hedge fund are high on the list of serious presidential candidate material. A lot could change by 2016, or 2020, but I don't think that much will change, and I don't get a sense that Chelsea has any real ambition for politics, she's just being supportive of her mother.

But, I'd be happy to beat both a Bush in the primaries, and a Clinton in the general election to claw my way to the Oval Office. I'll make sure this country gets what's coming to it (and that's either a threat, or a promise).

Lot's of Hype, Not Much Game . . .

The debut of Beckham just ended. He played the last 13+ minutes, had only a few touches, and got tackled in extra time which put a scare into the sold out Home Depot Center. Lucky for the LA Galaxy that Chelsea isn't in the same league, cause they aren't even close to being in the same league.

Chelsea plays at a completely different gear.

The final was 1-0, but it wasn't close, the game was played almost entirely in the Galaxy's end, but for solid goaltending by Cannon and excellent defense by Xavier, Chelsea would have scored 3 or 4 times.

Against another MLS team, they might be good, haven't been paying enough attention to know.

The ESPN coverage covered the 'stars' in the stands more than the game at times, Victoria Beckham was there of course, and she drug Eva Longoria and Katie Holmes (clutching Suri) with her. Kevin Garnett was here, I'll take that as a sign that a deal is getting done to send KG to LA. The Governator took some time off from Governating and brought the wife and kids. Drew Carey was there to actually watch the game, which seemed out of place.

OK, That's A Point In Her Favor, But I Still Won't Be Voting For Her

Sen. Hillary Clinton has picked up the very important "world's most famous pornstar" endorsement (via Drudge).

As a business person you'd think Jenna would worry more about higher taxes and increased regulatory complexity than any perceived GOP interference in her industry (despite his social positions, you'd think Jenna would be a Huckabee fan given what a boon a Fair Tax would be for a professional like her).

When the GOP is in control they talk about regulations, but it's when Dems are in control is when they actually get inacted. Even though she says the Clinton era was a golden age for porn (not her words, but her inference), I think she's mistaken.

But if I were interviewing Jenna Jameson regarding the Clintons my follow up question would have been, "Which would you prefer doing a scene with, Bill, Hillary, or Chelsea?"

That's a question for which she would be uniquely qualified to give an interesting answer.

Speaking of Chelsea, she would seem to be the perfect answer for Sen. Clinton's "First Lady" problem. Bill would make a terrible First Lady. The role is too traditionally feminine, and too wrapped up in protocol for someone of his inclinations and temperament to fulfill. Chelsea on the other hand might be just right for the role. She could resign her position as an access peddler in NYC (I mean important cog in the wheel that is Avenue Capital hedge fund), move into the White House, and fulfill the wifely functions for her mother that her father would be so terrible at.

She'd be a more natural choice to fulfill the First Lady function than former President Clinton, and much less controversial.

And as far as the question I would have asked Jenna, my guess is her answer would have been, 'all three at once'.
