The Really Important Issue

So the South Park fellas get around to bringing their wit and satiric edge to the Cartoon Conflagration, and they knock it out of the park.

So far kudos from the conservative/libertarian side of the blogosphere, two examples, Captain's Quarters and The Anchoress.

But the really fiery discussion has been over at Ain't It Cool News, and the topic for discussion isn't the Cartoon Jihad at all, rather the discussion revolves around on the comparative merits of Family Guy, South Park and the Simpsons.

God Bless the Geeks, they are so predictable.

Parker and Stone work in jabs at weak kneed execs pulling episodes of TV shows in the face of criticism from aggrieved interest groups, folks who prefer to bury their heads in the sand rather than face down the threat of violence from Islamofascist crazies (literally), and Family Guy.

In other words another classic episode to add to the other two brilliant episodes so far this season.

(could have been funnier, but sometimes it's OK to sacrifice the funny in the service of getting your point across, just make sure there is some funny, and make sure you don't make it a habit, cause when it comes down to it, no matter how pointed and smart you may be when it comes to the issues, if you are a comedy show that forgets to be funny, your audience will eventually forget to watch, speaking of which, did anything good happen on The Daily Show today?)
