It's hard not to go back to the PFunk the whole PFunk and nothing but the PFunk whenever thinking about which song to post lyrics for.
So I won't fight the PFunk, cause to fight the PFunk would be Pfoolish.
No single song jumps out at the moment. No events from the week point to any particular song. Instead I'll just go with one of the classics. One of the best. The one, the only Up For the Downstroke. (from the album of the same name)

Talking 'bout he's mad
Let's take it to the stage, jack, come on!
And get up for the down stroke
Get up for the down stroke
Everybody get up
(x4)
Everybody get up
Get up for the down stroke
Everybody get up
(x2)
Party!
It's all about party, yeah!
Having a party, y'all
(get up for the down stroke?) (get down!)
(?.........a joke)
Get down on the real side
Get up for the down stroke
Everybody get up
(x6)
Woo, hoo hoo!
I don't care about the cold, baby
Cause when you're hot, you're too much
Cause when you're hot, you're hot
Look at what you've got
(x7)
(give me the claps)
(let's take it to the bridge)
(What?)
(He talkin' bout he mad!)
(Make it funky now)
Get up for the down stroke
Everybody get up
(x8)
Party!
I don't care about the cold, baby
Cause when you're hot, you're too much
Cause when you're hot, you're hot
Look at what you've got
(x3)
Party, baby party!
You're hot
Let's take it to the stage!
I don't care about the cold, baby
Cause when you're hot, you're too much
Cause when you're hot, you're hot
Look at what you've got (oh, my godfather!)
I don't care about the cold, baby (get up for the down stroke)
Cause when you're hot, you're too much
Cause when you're hot, you're hot
Look at what you've got
I don't care about the cold, baby (get up for the down stroke)
Cause when you're hot, you're too much
Cause when you're hot, you're hot
Look at what you've got
I see this song as a manifestation of a philosophical system that favors inner radiance, or 'hotness'. When you allow your inner radiance to flow outward you will achieve a state of being 'too much', and that ain't bad. Also at the moment of ultimate hotness you will no longer care about the cold, all external realities will fall away and the inner truth and beauty will be exposed. The Hindu call the world illusion Maya. Through focusing on your personal growth, inner radiance, and 'hotness' you can see through the illusion and finally be able to truly 'Look at what you've got'. A worthy goal all should pursue. The path to that goal is getting up for the downstroke, and getting down on the upstroke. Through repeated counterstroking your body and mind will be freed. (all this counterstroking is even better with a partner or two, or three)

A number of years ago, The Onion had a great piece, "National Funk Congress Deadlocked on Get Up/Get Down Issue"
"Get up-uh, get on up! Get up-uh, get on up!" shouted Getuplican Party supporters on the steps of the Capitol as the debate, as well as a massive 14-piece instrumental jam, raged within. The pro-up-getting demonstrators' chants were nearly drowned out by those of a nearby group of jungle-boogie Downocrats, who called upon all citizens to "Get down, get down!"
... "The time has come to face facts: To move forward, we've got to get on up, and stay on the scene, like a sex machine," said Brick House Majority Leader James Brown (G-GA), one of getting on up's most vocal supporters. "Say it loud: Only when we have gotten up offa that thing will we, as a nation, finally get back on the good foot."
Upon learning of Brown's remarks, Downocratic leaders openly questioned his commitment to getting up. Said Robert "Kool" Bell, a top-ranking Brick House Downocrat: "It is a well-known fact that Brown has, on many past occasions, urged his supporters to get down with they bad selves. In response to his inconsistent voting record and history of waffling on this crucial issue, we will not rest until every American, as is their birthright, has gotten down."
"You got to get down," Bell added. "Hyuh!"
As they say. read the whole thang.
