Yes, I'm X-dub, I'm the real X-dub,
All you other X-dubs are just X-flubs.
Will the real XWL please stand up?
Please stand up?
Please stand up?
Since it's been awhile and I'm not likely to get any other guesses, plus I don't want anybody else thinking that this title was inspired by Eminem, so without further ado, the real inspiration for the title of this post was the Eurythmics (with a nod to George Orwell, doubleplusgood, indeed)
Aw, now that's not right. I'm pretty sure that was at the beginning of "Slim Shady."
But dang it, as soon as I saw "Eurythmics" I remembered that album, too. The music did a great job capturing Orwell.
Now I'm wondering what happened to my copy. I'm going to go look through my old vinyl.

Funny story about that, the filmmaker of the 1984 picture that this music was supposed to be in must have disagreed. He went with the more standard, Hermann-lite classicalese, which I think was a mistake.
I had it in vinyl when it was released, and sought it out on an import CD later (I think they've since released a version in the U.S. but might be hard to find now).
It's a really brilliant album, and I think would have been brilliant in the film (which was pretty good, as I recall, Richard Burton's last performance also).
The only thing left over in the film was an Annie Lennox cameo.
