Hot and Heavy

Sen. Specter just went off on Sen. Ted Kennedy (and left Ted rather red faced, from anger presumably, though with Sen. Kennedy, other causes could always be presumed, no matter how early in the day)

This text will approximate the shade of scarlet that the Senator's face turned, it really is quite lovely and contrasts against his white hair magnificently.

I suspect it will make the highlight reels, so I won't recap, let's just say that Sen. Specter reiterated his position as Chair, and was displeased with Sen. Kennedy's lack of etiquette and equanimity.

UPDATE: Prof. Althouse noticed this exchange, too (but I beat her by 25 minutes). And WaPo has a video link (look for Specter-Kennedy Exchange on CAP) to the exchange on their main page at the moment.

It seems like a minor exchange, but I bet it will be blown up into a MAJOR EVENT.

UPDATE, Part two: Another thought, Sen. Kennedy mentioned during one of his sputtering paroxism that he was Chair of the committee when Judge Alito became Judge Alito 15 years ago. That means all this CAP nonsense was available, usable against him if it was that damaging, and either was ignored back then because it is nonsense, or cause Sen. Kennedy was thoroughly incompetent at his job as committee chair. I know one should never attribute to malice what could be explained by incompetence when referencing government, but in Sen. Kennedy's case, I'll make an exception. He is a malicious, malignant, (and incompetent) windbag whose lingering presence in the Senate is a black mark on the voters of Massachusetts (He makes their Junior Senator Kerry look like a paragon of competence and rhetorical honesty in comparison)

Here Here! Did you catch my post about Kennedy's request to Spector being similar to those of a certain large cartoon character?
