The Bush Doctrine at Work

Prof. Glenn Reynolds chimes in with his thoughts about the current broadening war in the Middle East.

He says without saying it directly that what is unfolding is the Bush Doctrine working its magic.

I know that may sound sarcastic to many, but it isn't.

A real war is better than a false peace (the Clinton doctrine of empty agreements is bearing fruit). States that support terror must be isolated and held responsible for the terrorists they support. Syria and Iran can not wage war through proxy against Israel and the United States and not expect serious consequences. That the UN is busy trying to condemn Israel in all of this, just gives more proof that they should pack up and move to some place better suited to their nature (Tripoli might be a good place for them, or Caracas).

Syria and Iran will cease to be in their current state if they choose to push this war, not Israel and the United States.

The safety of everyone depends on attacking terror as a method of warfare and discrediting, isolating, and destroying if necessary, states that haven't figured that out, even if Europe doesn't mean business, the USA does. Hopefully that resolve won't flag, this current conflict could last 5 years, 10 years, or 50 years, it all depends if we choose to really fight, and how many allies we pick up or lose along the way.

UPDATE:

More appreciation for the Bush Doctrine at Winds of Change (from Yehudit), there are plenty of Arabs who appreciate whats going on and recognize that the nihilistic murdering thugs that claim to be champions of Islam and Arabs are instead, dangerous, evil, and musn't be tolerated.
