Dairies are leaving the Inland Empire. While at UCR I experienced the effect of a large concentration of dairies first hand. The winds would occaisonally blow off of those dairies and even miles away the stench would be overwhelming.
Cows are amazingly facile at converting grass/feed into a thick miasmic stench.
They can have them up in the San Joaquin Valley.
